Praise Break
By Medomfo Owusu
If it’s Sunday, and the place is packed,
Then I better hear musical sounds.
If rhythms compel my knees to dance,
Then my soul knows that I’m free, free, free.
If quiet melodies are whispered,
Then in serenity, I will pray.
If I am challenged and encouraged,
Then this church is what I will call home.
Cue the praise break, cue the call to prayer.
If you see me singing and dancing,
Then I pray you’ll sing and dance with me.
If you respect and hear my story,
Then we’ll slowly spirit’ally heal.
If you sense beauty in many forms,
Then celebrate all forms of devotion.
Cue the praise break, cue the call to prayer.
If we can talk with both souls at peace,
Then we can fellowship together.
If we both express our faith freely,
Then the Spirit of David is here.
If we can be hopeful through goodness,
If we can be hopeful through lamentation,
Then we will have found the meaning of joy,
The meaning of unity,
The meaning of the nest of my faith and fellowship.
Cue the praise break, cue the call to prayer.
