When Self-Love is the Escape You Need

Time to pack it all up.
Take it to the incinerator.
Carry and love the ashes with care.
But, don’t hold on to them.
Release them, knowing that you have risen.
There’s nothing like the scorch
of a self-love fully realized — a love fueled by the one to whom darkness is not dark.*

*“One to whom darkness is not dark” is a reference to Psalm 139:12 ESV: “Even the darkness is not dark to you; the night is bright as the day, for darkness is as light with you.”
