Where We Are Meant To Be

By Emily Barrus

Home.

What does it mean to you?

Do you immediately think of a certain location or a childhood house?

I believe there will always be a part of me that when I think of home, a certain location will always come to mind. It was home for over half of my life. Fond and terrible memories come to mind.

Home isn’t always a certain place. It’s like the saying, “home is where the heart is”. It’s true. Wherever you may be in life, wherever your heart may rest is where you find your home.

I’ve come to know dear friends who are like family. A piece of my heart rests with them.

We are in this exact place because of our life’s journey.

Family and friends have helped shape us into who we are to this day. In this very moment.

We yearn to be around those who have had a positive impact in our lives.

This season, may we reflect on what home means to us.

I hope whether fond or terrible memories come to mind for you, that you are able to focus on what is needed for you.

Home will not always look like what we think it’s supposed to.

It may not always be where we are expecting, but it’s where we are meant to be.
