Ponder: Read this passage —

When the angels had left them and gone into heaven,
the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem
and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.”

Prompt: Ponder this paradox —

THE PARADOX OF Jesus’ coming and ours.

The coming of Christ calls us to come, ourselves,
like the shepherds setting out to see — and share — this thing that has happened.

Christ, Son of God, comes to us, leaving majesty behind.
We, mere man, come to him, bringing our beggarly, shepherd-selves.

In this — all are welcome.
In this — all will worship.

INHALE: Christ has come.
EXHALE: I will come.
