Who Am I

Who am I?
I am not my own
I am the created
I am the chosen
I am the beloved
Of the Great I AM

Given the guardianship of my own soul
Fashioned and formed before time began
Created by the Author of all that is
With the delight of an Artist in showcasing his Joy
To be filled with the breath and the life
Of the Only I AM

Yet I am so weary
My soul that expresses his heart
Unique glimpses of my creator
Are mine to reflect, as his precious,
His daughter, the little girl too
Of the Loving I AM

Yet the reflections are scattered
Across the stony field of debris
that were once rooms full of hope
but now are caverns of despair
alone and exposed to the dark winds
by the enemy of The I AM

Where is my Shepherd?
My soul continues to ask
Why the rubble and shipwreck?
Why all the heartache?
How can shame have such a claim
On me, a child of The I AM?

Your truth is buried within
My soul still sits in the darkness of night
The waiting, the mourning, the storms
Pull me into deeper shadows and mire
Will the break of day ever come
With the Light of The I AM?

Hope begins to swell
As healing and beauty begin to return
To this little one, marred by this world
Yet in the Father’s tender care
Broken pieces are sealed together
With the Gold of The I AM

My soul begins to create
Reflecting back upon her creator
The joy of color and dots and verse
With each new expression, a drop
Of Living Water begins to bring wholeness
Filling up Who I am

So, Who am I?
Or rather Whose am I?
Only in knowing the Great I AM
am I able to know Who I am
and as I know Who I am
I am able to know The I AM

How Do you create
to reflect back upon your creator?
